Intelligent neural system for bidirectional connection with exoprostheses and exoskeletons
NerveRepack is building implantable, bidirectional electrodes that connect peripheral nerves to external prostheses and exoskeletons for people with arm amputations or leg paralysis. The implant combines neural sensing and stimulation electrodes with a signal-processing ASIC, wireless power and communication, and an embedded control platform.
Artificial intelligence learns and interprets the user’s neural signals and converts them into movement commands, while sensory feedback is returned to the nerve. Three demonstrators are planned: a forearm prosthesis, a lower-limb exoskeleton and a single-leg exoskeleton.
Contracted by AREUS Technology SRL, a Romanian beneficiary responsible for the software layer that links neural acquisition, AI and prosthetic control. Our work sits in the AI workstream: classification of motor neural signals, real-time feature extraction and embedded inference designed for low-latency, low-power hardware.
