Silicon & Sensing

From silicon
to skin.

Software can be patched tomorrow. Silicon has to be right the first time. Our team brings the semiconductor industry's habits of specification, verification, tape-out and qualification to wearable health sensing.

01 Readout electronics

Low-power mixed-signal design for biosensing.

Wearable sensors are only as good as the electronics that read them. We specify and coordinate the design of low-power, mixed-signal readout circuits for body-worn sensing. This is the layer that turns a faint electrochemical or physiological signal into a trustworthy digital measurement.

Our focus is the unglamorous engineering that decides whether a device survives the real world: noise budgets, calibration, drift compensation, and power envelopes measured in days of wear, not hours.

  • Multi-mode sensing interfaces: potentiometric, amperometric and impedimetric channels
  • On-device signal conditioning, self-calibration and drift compensation
  • Energy budgets engineered for multi-day wear on a single charge
  • Every measurement carries its own uncertainty and quality flag

Concept view. A measurement without its uncertainty is an opinion; our readout chain reports both.
02 Industrialisation

We speak foundry.

Health hardware routinely dies in the gap between a beautiful lab prototype and a manufacturable product. Our team spent close to two decades inside that gap, at IC manufacturers, foundries and ASIC houses, and knows what it takes to close it.

That means we design for manufacture from day one: process selection, packaging, test strategy, yield and unit cost are inputs to the architecture, not afterthoughts.

  • 18+ years across the silicon value chain: IC test, ASIC programme management, foundry field engineering, foundry business development
  • Working relationships across European and global foundry, packaging and design ecosystems
  • Design-for-manufacture: yield, reliability and unit cost engineered in from the specification
THE ROUTE WE KNOW HOW TO RUN Specify Design & verify Tape-out Foundry Package & test Worn on the body yield · reliability · unit cost: decided at specification, proven at the end We coordinate every step, and we have worked inside most of them.
Concept view. Health silicon fails in the hand-offs; our job is owning them end to end.
03 Wearable systems

Electronics that live on a person.

A wearable health device is a systems problem wearing a hardware costume: flexible electronics, wireless links, battery chemistry, comfort, adhesion and human behaviour all in one envelope. We engineer for the constraint that matters most: it has to keep working on a real person, on an ordinary day, without supervision.

  • Flexible hybrid electronics and body-worn form factors
  • Sensor fusion with the phone-side AI platform, under one execution contract from skin to score
  • Offline buffering and authenticated sync to ride out connectivity gaps
  • Designed against real-world failure modes: motion, sweat, temperature, neglect

Combined with the AI platform, this closes a loop few teams can close alone: we can take a sensing concept from electrode to silicon to on-body data to a privacy-preserving score built for clinical evaluation.

Concept view. The wearable, the phone and the platform are designed as one system with one data contract.
